Whether it is night or day, our minds and hearts are active; even in pauses they are awake, alert, on. Perhaps even our spirits…prompting us on quietly—or more clearly when we ask for its help and focus ourselves into the listening mode. These propensities take the stimulus coming into our environment which we see, feel, hear, taste, touch, and intuit, and begin a journey within our mind to emotions, or perhaps to our consciousness, then to our subconscious. Next, the intermingling stays within until it seeps out tenderly like a soft fragrance of flower blossoms, or perhaps our responding is clear and strong in our words and actions. Bottom line, input from environment melds with the inner us (thoughts and all that is swirling within, intangible and tangible) and the output is expressed.
We think we are making choices clearly, however, in most cases it behooves us to understand we are making these choices from what has affected us for a long time—the good, the bad, and the ugly (Clint Eastwood movie comes to mind!).
If we want to truly be clear and live in the present more accurately, it’s good to have the stimulus recognized and pause. Be clear in what we are thinking, feeling, sensing, and believing before we answer or act in the moment. We may need to ponder for a while, release an old way and incorporate a newer belief, etc. Then we will be actually creating more of what we want to create and less encumbered from a less-proactive neuronal or memory reflex of action-reaction.
