Has something this season made you pause?
The other day, the moment that stopped me, stilled me, brought mist to my eyes and more expansion to my heart, was listening to Bing Crosby and David Bowie sing about Peace. What year was this duet filmed of them singing Little Drummer Boy? It’s on YouTube, to see it you can google ‘Bing Crosby, David Bowie- Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.’
Well, Peace has not been reached across the world, or within all the societies, homes, or individuals. To be created, it is accomplished by individually reaching for and attaining our own individual peace and perhaps helping others, through ways that support peace and heal our minds and spirits. We, our children and loved ones, all of humanity and this earth, deserve peace. All the future generations and life deserve peace.
Yes, we each would need to figure out ways within our lives to accomplish this and step up when the calling is heard. Change directions when what we are doing is not expressing peace, or is in the wrong direction. Change is one answer to when we swerve in the wrong direction—yet it is wise to pause and consider what is the next, more sound, better, more loving, more peaceful, healthier route. We often need courage to seek the understanding and expansion, and usually more information or insight.
Our moments on this earth matter. Most times, we can do more than we are doing. Sometimes this means doing less busy-stuff, and having more moments in peaceful reflection, reevaluation, re-harmonizing ourselves for the hundredth time (or the thousandth, this is okay!…oh it really doesn’t matter how many times we right ourselves). The point is to consider a good intention for peacefulness in this day, or this year, then, with it as our focus, align with it, in whatever ways we can.
If there is light in the soul,
There will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house,
There will be order in the nation
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.
